Microsoft Bing Image Creator Released
Microsoft has announced exciting updates to its search engine Bing and web browser Microsoft Edge. The company is introducing AI-powered features to make searching, creating, and understanding information easier, more engaging, and more visual.
Bing Image Creator
Bing Image Creator is an AI-powered image generator that lets you create images simply by describing them in words.
Bing Image Creator is powered by OpenAi's image generator, Dalle-2. The thing to remember is that the New Bing is powered by GPT-4 which is also a product of Open Ai. So, instead of going to Dalle to create Ai images, we can use the Bing search engine to do a similar task.
How to use the Bing image creator?
There are two ways to use this new feature.
1. First method:
The first method is to go to Microsoft Edge and type "bing.com/chat" or click the "chat" button to access this. But this feature is only available to Bing Preview users. Users can join the waitlist for getting access to the New Bing here.
2. Second method:
This method does not require Bing Preview access. Users just need to go to any search engine and type https://www.bing.com/images/create/
After signing up for a Microsoft account, we can create images by just putting the text prompts.
New AI-powered Visual Stories and Knowledge Cards
Microsoft is also introducing new AI-powered visual Stories and updated Knowledge Cards to Bing and Edge. Stories provide an engaging way to search and interact with content, offering images and short videos. Knowledge Cards 2.0 is an AI-powered infographic-inspired experience that provides fun facts and key information at a glance. It includes interactive, dynamic content like charts, graphs, timelines, visual stories, and more.
The human brain processes visual information about 60,000 times faster than text, making visual tools critical for searching, creating, and understanding information. Based on Bing data, images are one of the most searched categories, second only to general web searches. Microsoft is working to deliver more immersive experiences in Bing and Edge that make finding answers and exploring the web more interesting, useful, and fun.
Responsible AI
Microsoft is determined to develop and deploy AI systems responsibly. Microsoft is working closely with OpenAI to ensure responsible use of the feature. If the system catches a potentially harmful image that could be generated by a prompt, it will block the prompt and warn the user. In the bottom left corner of each image, Microsoft adds a modified Bing icon to indicate that it's generated using Image Creator.
Conclusion
Microsoft is adopting and adding Ai to its search engine for a better user experience and this is working for them as they are seeing an increase in its audience. That's Why Google is moving towards Ai as well.
